The population that is served by the agency are individuals and families that reside and/or work in Waukesha County. Within the limits of our resources, agency programs are available to all who are in need and can make appropriate use of agency services. Race, color, creed, economic status, physical disabilities, orientation, language and residence are not conditions of eligibility.

Agency services and programs receive funding from United Way, client fees, health insurance, government contracts, service agreements and donations.

Most agency clients participate in agency programs voluntarily, and request agency services at a time of individual or family stress or crisis. An increasing number of agency clients are required to participate in agency programs by order of the court, or as a condition of probation or parole.

Family Service of Waukesha provides individual, family, educational, supportive, group, and in-home services. Cases are often carried collaboratively with other therapists and agencies that provide services for specific needs such as medication, treatment for alcoholism, developmental disabilities, vocational rehabilitation, probation and parole, or financial assistance. When there is collaboration with other agencies, Family Service of Waukesha will usually take responsibility for case management and coordination of services. In such cases, confidentiality of client names and case content is strictly maintained. Duplication of services that are provided by other agencies or individuals is avoided.

Our positive working relationship with Waukesha Memorial Hospital, United Way, Waukesha County Department of Health and Human Services, WCTC, Family Court Counseling Services, The Women's Center, PPAC, the District Attorney's office, Probation and Parole, the Sheriff's Department, and numerous community agencies and funding sources helps Family Service of Waukesha to be an integral part of the strong fabric of effective community services that are available in Waukesha County.

The following summary of agency services provides additional detail of the broad range of effective agency programs that are provided by Family Service of Waukesha.
